- A sharp, serrated knife works best for cutting through the skin and pulp of citrus fruits, as it easily slices without squishing the fruit.
- Cut off both the top and bottom of the fruit. This will create a flat surface and make it easier to stabilize the fruit while cutting.
- For a cleaner cut, you can use a paring knife to remove the rind and pith (the white part) in vertical strips. Hold the fruit upright and slice downward, following the curve of the fruit.
- After trimming the ends, slice the citrus in half horizontally. You can then either squeeze the juice or cut it into wedges from here.
