Prep Time
5 Mins
Supplies
1 lemon (juiced and zested)
1/2 cup white vinegar
1 cup water (distilled or tap water)
1 teaspoon baking soda (optional, for extra scrubbing power)
10-15 drops essential oil (optional, for added fragrance—lemon, lavender, or eucalyptus work well)
Spray bottle (16 oz size)
Directions/Steps
- Zest the lemon and set aside the zest (you can use this for a fresh scent or to add to the cleaner for extra cleaning power).
Squeeze the juice of the lemon into a bowl, making sure to remove any seeds. - Combine ingredients in a 16 oz spray bottle. If you prefer a stronger fragrance, add 10-15 drops of essential oil such as lemon, lavender, or eucalyptus. These oils also have antibacterial properties.
- Secure the spray bottle top and shake everything well to combine the ingredients.
Tips & Tricks
Spray the cleaner directly onto surfaces like countertops, sinks, bathroom tiles, or glass. Wipe clean with a damp cloth or sponge. For tougher stains or grime, let the cleaner sit for a minute or two before wiping.
Keep your cleaner in a cool, dark place to preserve the essential oils and lemon zest. Shake the bottle before each use.
Citrusy Scent: The natural acids in lemon and vinegar will help eliminate odors, leaving your home smelling fresh and clean.
Use caution on sensitive surfaces: Although this cleaner is gentle, always test it on an inconspicuous spot before using it on delicate surfaces (like granite or marble), as vinegar can sometimes cause damage to certain types of stone.
